Private schools have been urged to fully embrace government policies such as the Education Management Information System (EMIS), a comprehensive initiative aimed at registering and monitoring school children nationwide.
Speaking at the launch of the Private Schools Head Teachers Association in Kasese Municipality, Seth Ahebwa principal education officer emphasized that all schools, whether private or government-aided, should adhere to this policy to improve data accuracy and educational planning.
He further asked school to provide appointment letters to their teachers to avoid future disturbances.
In addition, Kabugho Jackline inspector of schools for kasese municipality encouraged school administrators to actively participate in co-curricular activities, stressing the importance of holistic student development beyond academics.
Kyana Cyprus head teacher for trust care and newly elected chairman of the association speaking on behalf of private schools, pledged support for government initiatives, emphasizing the role of private institutions in national educational progress. He also vowed to instill Co circular activities in schools.
The event marks a significant step towards unified efforts in improving the education sector and ensuring that all students are accounted for through structured data collection and inclusive extracurricular engagement.
