Residents of Kyondo Cell, Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality have reason to smile after regaining hope as the long-requested desilting of the devastating River Nyamwamba has finally begun. Due to frequent flooding of River Nyamwamba, residents in the area have lived in fear of the hazard. The river has shifted its boundaries and extended towards people’s households. Two vehicles have been shot in Kapapi, Hoima District following a clash over a 5 square mile piece of land between a UPDF officer and residents. The incident happened in Kapapi 1 Village, Kapapi Subcounty. The vehicles, a Toyota Mark X UBR 117L and a Toyota XS UAK 227D, were reportedly being driven by police who had gone to rescue Capt.
