Government has finalized plans to turn the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) in Nakawa
Dr.Chris Baryomunsi the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, said. We are going to transform the institute into a centre of excellence by supporting it and putting in more resources so we can even turn it into the equivalent of LDC. It will mean that those who want to work in the field of ICT, even if you have qualified from university, you first go through orientation and additional internship training through this institute in order for you to be a certified and qualified IT specialist.
