Uganda yesterday joined the rest of the world in commemoration of the World AIDS days. The national celebration was in buyende and was officiated by HE yoweri kaguta museveni, president of uganda. Currently, about 1.5 million Ugandans have HIV infection, acquired mainly via heterosexual transmission; about 10% acquired HIV infection via the mother-child transmission route.
