The arrangements to commemorate the 33rd Kabaka Coronation Anniversary have been finalized. All the activities leading up to the coronation have gone on well.
As of today, the committees that were set up to run the programs have completed about 90% of their responsibilities.
The Chairperson of the Coronation Anniversary Organizing Committee, Oweek Joseph Kawuki, speaking at a press briefing held this morning at Bulange, outlined the picture of how the main coronation ceremony will be conducted at Watoto Church, Bweyogerere.
Minister Joseph Kawuki has revealed that most of the arrangements have been concluded.
He added that all the preparatory activities leading to the anniversary have gone on well.
He also gave the program of the day, noting that the most important thing is to keep time because the main ceremony will only take two hours, from 4:00am to 6:00am.
He urged the Kabaka’s subjects to come early to avoid traffic jams, and also asked them to follow the guidance of the security personnel who will be deployed along the routes.
Captain Hawa Nassimbwa, the Deputy Head of Security for the Kingdom, explained how they have prepared to ensure security so that the Kabaka’s guests can have a smooth coronation ceremony.
She however warned those planning to cause chaos to stay away from Bweyogerere because they are ready to deal with them.
ASP Luke Owoyesigire, speaking on behalf of Kampala Metropolitan Police, said there are special directives that the Police and other security agencies will be implementing on that day.
He asked everyone attending the ceremony to cooperate well with the security personnel.
He also appealed to parents planning to come with their children to keep a close watch on them due to the large number of people and the presence of individuals with bad intentions toward children.
The 33rd Coronation Anniversary celebrations will be held under the theme “Tubeere Bavumu Okukuuma Obwangwa Bwaffe” – “Let us be steadfast in preserving our culture”.
The entire ceremony will be broadcast live on media platforms.
