Kasese district, in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, is set to officially launch the commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism on 25th November 2025, aimed at fighting Gender-Based Violence against women.

This was revealed this afternoon by Asiimwe Queen Gonda, the district gender focal person under the Community Development Office at Kasese district headquarters.
Asiimwe explained that the preparations aim to combat domestic violence in families in Kasese.

She explained why it’s called the 16 Days of Activism.
Queen Gonda highlighted that they have a complete GBV Shelter meant to provide psycho-social support to GBV victims.
She requested families to live in a harmonious, peaceful, and united environment for development.
Kasese District is among the districts challenged by the skyrocketing GBV cases, which have contributed to the separation of loved ones and high school dropouts.
