The meeting between FDC elders council and the two presidential flag bearer candidates Patrick oboi amuriat and nandala mafabi was today underway at party headquarters Najjanankumbi, Kampala.
The focus is on fostering unity, encouraging respect for Thursday’s national delegates conference results, and, if possible, agreeing on a single candidate to keep the party strong.
Speaking to the media shortly after the elders council meeting, hon nandala mafabi said that he is ready to go with what will be agreed upon from the elders council.
He said he is not ready to tire apart the party like what gen mugisha muntu did after losing to Patrick oboi amuriat.
This elders council meeting is one of the meetings that have sat to harmonize the two parties before Thursday national delegates conference where one of them is expected to be elected and hold the party flag in the presidential race come 2026 election.
Tomorrow, the party national executive committee will be sitting to determine the agenda of the national delegates conference and the budget for Presidential election to be presented to the national delegates conference.
