Church ministers in South Rwenzori Diocese have been urged to remain faithful and committed to serving God, both in season and out of season.
The call was made by Rev. Canon Barnabas Kainja during the induction of Lay Reader Masereka Landus alias Zibs at Mpondwe Anglican Church of Uganda in Bwera Town.
The induction service attracted hundreds of Christians who gathered in jubilation to welcome the newly inducted minister.
Rev. Kainja, in his sermon, called upon Christians to bear fruits of value for God’s glory, urging church leaders to work together, foster peace, and redeem the lost souls in the community.
Rev. Kainja encouraged both church leaders and believers to remain faithful in their calling.
In his acceptance speech, Landus Masereka Zibs pledged to work hand in hand with all church leaders.
He further committed himself to winning back lost souls in Mpondwe Town.
Jacob Masereka, the Head of Laity and the first Lay Reader of the church, together with Girison Muhindo, highlighted some of the challenges faced by the church, including ongoing construction works and limited security.
The colorful event also included the baptism of 8 Christians and a fundraising drive for the construction of the house of the Lord, which raised over UGX 3.26 Million.
