Health concerns are escalating in Kasese district, with increasing cases of diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and obesity among residents. The community is grappling with these significant health challenges that affect daily life and overall well-being.

Kabarokole Thungu Grace, a resident of Kikonzo cell in central division, has been struggling with severe bodily pains compounded by her obesity. She emphasizes the physical and emotional toll that excess weight has taken on her life. Grace’s experience echoes a growing trend in the area, where many are facing similar issues.
For over three years she has been struggling with this pain while visiting various hospitals and nothing much could be done by doctors to find a permanent solution to her health challenges.
